INFINITY Workspaces. What it is & What it Allows You To do – Part 2

Businesses across all industries must adapt to the rapidly changing landscape. Companies must be agile while using collaborative teams to encourage innovation. In this second installment of what INFINITY Workspaces allows you to do, we’ll explore a specific case of how INFINITY Workspaces delivered more than expected.

A Tailored Solution for Your Custom Workloads

Although our INFINITY Workspaces are an all-in-one solution, that doesn’t mean that they are not flexible. The INFINITY Workspaces are highly customizable and offer clients tremendous control of their IT environment. The advantage of platform flexibility is that we can help you leverage the benefits of new technologies for your specific industry as they become available.

IronOrbit’s four INFINITY Workspace options deliver a purpose-built environment carefully customized to the specifications of client needs. Having a DaaS tailored to individual use-cases helps achieve operational efficiency objectives.

INFINITY Workspaces Enable Seamless Business Continuity Strategies for Challenging Times

On March 23, 2019, the Governor of Washington announced the state’s first stay-at-home order to curb the spread of COVID-19. Most businesses, like the Truss Company, a leading manufacturer of engineered wood roof and floor trusses, knew they had to send their employees home to work but didn’t know how to go about it. After the initial shock began to wear off, other questions started. How are our employees going to work? How can we continue to serve our customers? What about moving supplies? Can we still drive on the roads? The questions came faster than the answers.

Although the room was in a panic, Mark Gallant, System Administrator, began to smile because he knew they had a ready-made solution to deal with the problem. A few weeks prior, the company unified its CRM and ERP systems within IronOrbit’s private cloud environment. Mark stood up and made the announcement, “We’re in a hosted environment. Tell everyone to get their computers from the office and go home.”

It was that simple. Unifying the organization’s database onto IronOrbit’s cloud environment was the decision that saved the day.

“I can’t express the gratitude I have for IronOrbit’s hosted environment. The benefits to our company have been innumerable,” says Mark Gallant. “You can’t even measure what IronOrbit has enabled our company to achieve. There were many other companies in our industry that were completely decimated for months. A few never recovered.”

Your Simple and Secure Work-from-Home Capacity

Working-from-Home security and functionality are the main drivers for companies to use the INFINITY Workspace DaaS solution. Whether work-from-home is the best strategy for everyone remains an unresolved question. Most companies embrace a hybrid work model where most work happens away from the corporate office. All indications are that this trend will continue. Sales in the global Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) Market will be more than six billion dollars by the end of 2022 and continue onto eighteen billion dollars by 2029.

While some organizations were in an excellent position in 2019 to pivot and transition to WFH, other companies leveraged the tectonic changes within the market and found new opportunities. Retail brands replaced brick-and-mortar stores with online shopping. For restaurants, it was online menus for pick-up or delivery. Hospitals and doctor’s offices relied more on telehealth. Manufacturing businesses began leveraging autonomous systems, machine learning, the intelligent warehouse, and the rest of what Industry 4.0 has to offer.

All of this was made possible through cloud computing (DaaS) solutions that provisioned work-from-home employees with the resources they needed to get the job done.

Helping You Keep Pace with the Market

Internal organizational changes will not keep pace with external volatility without a modern IT infrastructure that aligns with its 2-year, 5-year, and 10-year strategy. The cautionary note here is not to make decisions based on expediency and costs. Instead, align business objectives with the most appropriate technology available. Break down corporate silos and invite your IT Director to the following corporate strategy meeting.

INFINITY Workspaces do more than enable WFH and increase scalability and all the other powerful things that come with DaaS, such as:

  • Changing the workplace’s value position
  • Leveraging employee capabilities
  • Enhancing security
  • Benefiting the client experience

INFINITY Workspaces pave the road to a solid IT foundation that is modern and forward-leaning.

Placing your daily workflow on a modern digital platform such as IronOrbit prepares everyone in your organization to learn new skills. They will learn intuitively using the latest technology within the INFINITY Workspace solution. Using the technology will inspire many of them to become more innovative. They’ll find new and better ways to be more effective in their jobs. They might even discover new ways to improve the customer experience, ideas never thought of before.

Modernizing your IT infrastructure with DaaS, specifically, INFINITY Workspaces does more than enable talent to work anywhere. INFINITY:

In Conclusion:

Just adopting any DaaS solution isn’t going to get your organization to where you want to be. The best approach for CEOs and IT leaders is to take inventory first. Consider where your company is going and what technologies will help you get there. Tailoring INFINITY Workspaces to fit optimizes your IT infrastructure to take full advantage of the best that cloud-enablement has to offer. We have four Levels of the INFINITY Workspace for you to check out. Depending on your use case, one INFINTY Workspace package makes more price and performance sense than another.

INFINITY Workspaces. What it is & What it Allows You To do – Part 1

INFINITY Workspaces is a Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) unlike any other. The name itself represents boundless, endless, and more significant than any number.

A workspace is where you get stuff done. Whether you’re a high-performing knowledge worker, a creative designer, or a technical professional, you require a computing environment that fits the way you work. Your access to files is critical. But it would be best if you had more than cloud-based file storage and retrieval. You’ve got everything from standard applications to high-resource demand programs that you also use daily to get the job done. Everything must be in one place, easily and securely accessed from anywhere and on any device. Forward leaning and adaptable Desktop-as-a-Service (DaaS) technologies like INFINITY Workspaces position companies for long-term success as the workplace model, customer landscape, technology solutions, and unpredictable events continue to evolve.

INFINITY Workspaces are our high-capacity DaaS solutions. In this article, we’ll give you the intel you need to make an informed choice between the various DaaS options on the market today.

The DaaS Model of Virtual Desktop Delivery

2022 is the era of DaaS, a cloud-based service that handles all the resources needed to deliver virtual desktops.

What is a virtual desktop?

A virtual desktop is your applications, files, and operating system. It works on any internet-connected device and gives you many professional business advantages. It even includes personal computer settings delivered to your screen (any screen) from the cloud—everything you need to get the job done. Anywhere you want to go. Desktop-as-a-Service is the model that allows us to provision and maintain those virtual desktops for you within an easily budgeted subscription-based structure. At its best, DaaS ensures business continuity, improves security, and provides control over business-critical assets. Fully compliant, Tier 4 data centers, entirely fault-tolerant and have redundancy for every component, host IronOrbit’s INFINITY Workspaces (DaaS). You benefit from IronOrbit’s robust security protocols, which provide much more security than on-site servers.

3 Different DaaS Models You Should Know

Gartner’s 2021 Market Guide for DaaS identifies three different varieties of DaaS offerings:

1. Client-Defined DaaS – The Client-Defined DaaS approach forces clients to assemble the solution from components supplied by a vendor.

2. Vendor-Defined DaaS – A Vendor-Defined DaaS approach takes the burden of figuring things off the shoulders of the client and provides a turnkey solution to manage all infrastructure components.

3. Managed DaaS – Operations that have existing managed services by an MSP and want minimal input into their operations tend to have a Managed DaaS.

Although there are many different DaaS offerings, they all provide virtualized desktop or Windows application experiences delivered from remote public or private cloud-hosted locations. They all eliminate the need to purchase the hardware associated with virtual desktop infrastructures (VDI) or server-based computing (SBC).

What Makes IronOrbit’s DaaS, INFINITY Workspaces Superior?

Unlike many competitors in the Vendor-Defined DaaS category, IronOrbit continually innovates solutions to meet the specific demands of clients and the unique demands of their industry. The 2021 Gartner DaaS Market Guide categorizes IronOrbit’s INFINITY Workspaces as a cross between the Vendor-Defined DaaS and Managed DaaS. The key identifiers are the turnkey aspects of our offerings and IronOrbit’s ability to handle as much or as little of the client’s infrastructure as needed.

3 Steps You Can Take Now to Secure Your Firm’s Communications

Many law firms already had remote work policies in place. All employees were fully equipped to work from home with the same set-up they had in the office, including dual monitors, webcams, and of course secure lines of file sharing and communication.

Only about one-third of America can work from home in ways that are productive. They comprise about 45% of the country’s wages. At the same time, the demand for lawyers has never been higher. Some firms have even organized coronavirus task forces.

A few of the forward-leaning firms were already set up so that their teams could work from home. All their internal and client-facing documents are on a secure cloud-based platform. Don’t feel bad if your firm isn’t one of them. Many law practices don’t fall into that category. There’s a strong reliance on file sharing and video conferencing. Collaboration tools like Microsoft 365’s TEAMS do a great job in both capacities. That’s why we included it in our services. And Microsoft TEAMS is a solid program. TEAMS uses its own encryption when it sends files.

Installing a good Virtual Private Network for the whole firm is a great step towards security. Let’s put that aside for now. Here are 3 solid recommendations for making your Internet communications more secure. And the good news, your staff can do these things immediately. They all have to do with securing a remote Wi-Fi. The first order of business. Check to see if a teleworker’s connections to the Internet are secure.

Law Firms Need to be Remote, Secure, and closely Connected with Each Other and their Clients
No Public Wi-Fi

Still, remote work raises security issues. Cyber hackers take advantage of personal devices and the lack of secure Wi-Fi.
Never use public Wi-Fi for conducting business or communication between colleagues or clients. This kind of traffic is being monitored by hackers all the time.

Use Personal Hotspots in Emergencies

If you’re in a pinch, better to use your personal hotspot. There are still security vulnerabilities, but not the same as using public Wi-Fi.

Secure Home Networks

It’s surprising to have to write this. But there are those who still don’t use this simple way of protecting their home network. Remote workers must secure their home Wi-Fi. Ensure the home network is password-protected. These passwords need to be complex made of at least 12 characters.
